This one will be a little less positive, but it is crucial.
One of the biggest mistakes that I have seen users make on steemit is committing what I call "STEEMICIDE." What exactly is "steemicide" you ask?
Steemicide is when a users behaves and interacts in such a way that they destroy their username and reputation, effectively committing suicide on steemit. Once a users goes down this road, most of the time there is no coming back. Whether it is intentional or not, it certainly happens, and, by knowing what it is and how it happens, we can avoid doing it ourselves.
VIDEO 7 - STEEMICIDE
Many months ago I wrote up a post about it where I go a little deeper into this issue. For those of you who skipped the video or who want more info on this subject, here is the link to the original post. Thanks to @jsantana, that post has also been translated into Portuguese, so I'll include that link as well.
Until next time…

Great video and advice "Don't kick the hornets nest" I think if we all show respect to one another we will be fine in the long run, the ones that come in with the pay me attitude wont last long, like people with SP like you will put them in there place!!!
Respect is key. Thanks!

I had some favorite people of mine here on Steemit commit steemicide. It was hard to watch😢
It is very hard to watch. I'd rather help prevent it.

That is one reason that I wanted to do a video on it, even though I made a post about it 8 months ago. New users need to know! Thanks!
@papa-pepper I was inspired about how much you are helping new users with your video series I decided to start a challenge on my channel to help grow the steemit community.
upvote and rs 4 u....
I'm WAY behind on this series but slowly catching up. Great info, thank you.... and congrats on the newest pepper!
Good post. All valid points. I think the biggest problem for many newbies is the frustration felt when they don't get the attention they think they deserve. Frustration then turns to anger and they then lash out. The only real danger I see is that when someone achieves cult status and a large following, and someone then comes along with an opposing view. I can see the "potential" for the followers of that cult hero to ruin the reputation of the contrarian with constant flagging. I prefer to observe to all commentary with an open mind. Imo there are several people posting here who have achieved cult status and are also "gaming the system" to benefit themselves. I personally go into "attack mode" with posters like that as I care little about how much steem power I end up with in the future as I already know (and have been blogging about how "sentiment" can dictate the future of pricing in ANY market) that it is very likely bitcoin is a mania, And the future of bitcoin and most cryptos is not as bright as many currently believe. Steemit affords me the opportunity to make a record of my various market related opinions and have them all in one location.
Thanks for this :) I know where I will be spending the next few days!
