USA Space Force?

This month, @POTUS announced that we will (hopefully) be launching a new "Space Force" as our 6th branch of the United States Armed Forces. It is intended to have control over military operations in outer space. It would absorb the operations and duties of the Air Force Space Command, a unit inside the United States Air Force that currently handles and supports most of the country's military operations in space.

The rationale is to defend assets in space that may be threatened by other spacefaring nations. Considering all of the technological developments and satellites that we currently have in outer space, this is a concept that is way overdue. I'm curious as to what exactly this new branch of forces will be doing on a daily basis and whom will be eligible to enroll.

If I was still a kid, I would be SOOOO stoked on this news! I remember back when I was growing up, all I dreamed of was being an astronaut and/or designing rockets, but that dream was shattered once the Space Shuttle blew up on live television and they shut-down all aerospace University programs for the next 10 years.

Space Force I'm sure will offer all sorts of amazing new roles for young recruits and I envy the next decades young adults whom will have the opportunity to take part in this program. I mean that would be so cool to work with this new branch. So, what is your day job dude? Um, I'm part of SPACE FORCE!
