Extra-Curation Page Crash: 2 Hours Worth Work Down The Drain. What Happened To Me On Busy.org

in #help6 years ago

I was working on a post for over 2 hours and suddenly out of nowhere my page crashed. I was using Busy.org since it automatically save drafts and I had worked almost 2 hours and had finished most of the post. But when the page reloaded, everything was gone. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you manage to avoid it in the future? Was it a problem with Flash or JavaScript?

I'm using chrome for most of my work and even Brave is based on Chrome which has an in-built flash plugin which can sometimes cause crashes conflicting with the Flash Player installed on the computer. I thought Busy.org would keep a saved version of my draft which was well over 1000 words and videos (I think it was about 1200 words)

All of that work is gone and if anybody can explain what happened and how to prevent potential future disasters (apart from having an extra copy saved) I would greatly appreciate your help.

Rest of the community: Please keep a second copy saved while typing because expecting Busy.org to save your drafts can backfire (due to some Flash or JavaScript mess - I think)

Darn I feel your pain,it reminded me one time when I really worked on an essay ,but somehow my work didn't get saved and it was lost. The rage you feel it's hard to describe

Nice to see you after a long time!

something is happening at the steem blockchain... I noted failures at the steemworld app, steemit and steemauto as well... maybe nodes falling again?

Things would really suck if it is the nodes. I've noticed the steemauto failing. We really do have a problem when it comes to nodes. The witnesses should take some serious aactions. From what I remember most nodes are run by Steemit Inc.

I guess the HF20 implementation and setting up could create those strange behaviors...
Be patience... everything will be fixed and better

The only sad part is loosing 2 hours of work. I almost don't feel like remaking that post.

that's the worst! I haven't had that happen on steemit though.

I haven't experienced anything like that yet on Steemit, I wrote out a story for another site about a year, maybe year and half ago and all of a sudden it just disappeared. I considered it a real bummer until doing it the second time around a couple days later I seemed to had improved upon it.
