Grow Tech’s Impact on Cannabis Agriculture

in #hemp5 years ago

The Hemp business is booming and by 2025 legal marijuana sales in the US are expected to reach $23 billion. In order to keep up with the growing demand hemp farmers are looking to tech to help streamline the process. The technology that is being used now may not be new but implementing it into growing cannabis is. AI is one of the main components being used as it can run 24/7 tests that remotely monitor the growing system to make sure everything is growing well. This system is able to find impurities in the plants as well as customize growing factors based on each plants’ needs. Another tech method is to use robots which can help with recognizing if programmed actions are working to achieve the intended outcome and storing that information for the next similar encounter. Some specific tech being used is FarmBot, a “smart” farming app-controlled system that can scale to as many plants as needed and will collect data to learn what each plant needs. Seedo is an automated hydroponic grow box that monitors and takes pictures of the plants to identify any problems and make changes in real-time. It can control temperature, humidity, water, lighting, and nutrients. To learn more about how grow tech is revolutionizing cannabis agriculture continue on to the infographic below.

Interesting stuff here. So cool to see this industry blossom into what it has become. All this just helps shed a good light on cannabis.

FYI there is a cannabis front end for Steem, check it out here. Just log in using your posting key, and post just like you would here. Or you can post here, and just add the tag weedcash to publish it to the Weedcash front end. Hope to see you around some more :)
