italicHi, first of all i would like ti state that i Ofcourse have not seen the full effect of the hardfork 19. italic
But my first impressions is that maybe the voting power got changed a little too quick, the few investor friends I have told me to ditch before hardfork and then possibly buy after, but I enjoy the community that is here.
I also think that the whales have been doing an ok job of moderating.
But I am a fresh member only one month old, and just past 100 followers, and going from about 0.01 per vote to 0.42 doesn't really make me feel confident that Steem/and will be able to hold its liquidity.
My earlier simple noob mistake with open.sbd and sbd on blocktrades don't really make me more comfortable.
But even so I will continue on Steem for the community and, maybe it's a hidden goldmine I have used my time on. But HF19 has made me kind of doubt that unfortunately, cause it makes me fear what might happen in say HF 27 or something.
anyone got any encouraging words?
Person! Not redfish, dolphin, whale or minnow.
an important detail is that your voting power now drains 4x faster, and the linear scaling means the people at the top had their overall power reduced even though it looks to be increased it's only from the 4x strength, so they are concentrating their votes more but everyone midlevel or new has all the voting power the whales lost in the change, so this means instead of some select few whale-curated selection earning all $9999 while everyone else has $0.01 the playing field is a lot more even
Yes, this is very true, but then again, when I use Steem throughout the day, I now will end up having a low voting power for some pretty good articles, I would rather have seen a 2x at a 1% voting power reduce if we where to have any. Just because I easily vote on over 25-30 articles on a readtrough. But I think as we get closer to the 1 million mark that it would be better to have a little more spread out voting power.
People will upvote themselves at 100%, and get max rewards, and upvote others at 2%. I'm not sure hf19 is that great, but we'll see..
I feel pretty new here still, but the way I see it is that the platform needs to do a few things in order to attain an level of success never known to crypto or social networks. Before it can make it any further though it needs to make sure most people here actually using the platform are happy and motivated to use it (or at least the vocal unhappy ones which ultimately make it better for the rest of us) which by the looks of it may have been accomplished since people are celebrating like crazy on here right now lol.
I don't quite know, but I see the big celebration as a dark omen, cause any credible investor would get frightened by it. All of a sudden as a redfish, according to the new voting and payouts, I could probably make more each hour on steem with minimal SP than I do a regular job in Scandinavia, that doesn't quite seem like a scenario where the market/investments will continue. But we will see. As my Islamic friends say "i'nshallah!"
I think its a little boost to make smaller voters more powerful therefore making the community more active and I have to admit that I'm a little bit more active on upvoting others stories. I don't know magic but I'm still trying to gather some followers.
Woohoo way to go buddy... Keep up the good work.
