RE: We Double Our Steem Power Upvoting Ourselves Every 181 Days!

in #hf207 years ago (edited)

Hmmm I don't know about only allowing 4 vote max / day but I do think you should earn more if you upvote someone else rather than yourself perhaps? But then alternative accounts would all upvote each other... =o

Yeah, there should be some limit on self voting...but that doesn't prevent bots from doing it. Maybe some kind of captcha that forces the person to actually open up and scroll to the bottom of the post.

I brought things like this up when Steemit was launched. But the Steemit devs like their bots. So the bots will always win.

Bots bring a lot of money...so I doubt it would actually happen.

how do you know if a bot has upvoted, downvoted, or when a comment has come from a bot?

When Bots comment they usually tell tell you their a bot. Bots usually have a lot of Steempower. So if someone gives you a really big upvote or flag, you can go to their wallet (home page) to see if their a real person.

Do you mean a captcha that would eliminate bots? I'm all for it, everyone would lose, because I guess everyone gets upvoted by bots, but it would make the platform more real (I think that would be the word).

Yeah exactly. It wouldn't hurt the steamcleaner and other non voting bots.
