We're going to steal all your money!
For those who haven't heard yet...
Absolutely epic news: The hardfork went threw and stole all the money, as planned... However, this wasn't so planned me thinks:
At first I was like...
Wait, how did this happen?
Didn't Bittrex suspend deposits?
Then I remembered the Bittrex account is just like any other account on Hive/Steem... you can't stop someone from sending money to you... lol. Considering the memo is an actual message and not the usual account number ID, I guess it's in their hands at the moment.
Just-in case you were wondering...
The message sent to Justin and TripleA.
The comments on @community321 are pretty epic as well.
Clearly, emotions are running high.
So what will you do now, Justin? Freeze Bittrex's funds are fork money away from their account? LOL, this is getting into extremely dangerous territory.
We haven't seen Sun back down a single time, ever.
So I expect more fireworks.
Thanks for the show.
Does anyone know how it was actually done? I totally don't understand the mechanics of this amazing heist...
See now that's the interesting question.
Did the HF23 team get betrayed by an insider?
Were they hacked?
All that is known is that whoever transferred those coins had access to the private active key and they used it to sign a transaction to Bittrex.
There could easily very well be an exploit on one of the frontends that was used during this process. In the transaction comments to @community321 it says @anonsteem was used to create the account. A hacker could have also traced the IP address of the specific computer that created the account and tried to hack that computer directly.
Except that hacker wouldn't know the IP address of the computer that created the account, only AnonSteem would know that. And if Anonsteem wanted to compromise the account, they could do so easily: just make a copy of the private key.
That's what I was saying I thought :D
I was giving AnonSteem the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't preemptively compromise accounts.
It is all fucking obvious it was ned!
I don't understand anything at all about it. Is it even a heist?
Either insider betrayal or a private key hack I assume.
It's just nice mirage in the daemon code... It makes wallets think the funds are moved by creating fake transaction that doesn't exist in the actual blockchain broadcasted on network. All people need is to connect using node that hasn't the hardfork code added to see their funds.
LOL, i died 😂😂
From The Annals of WTF:
Haha I read that on Twitter yesterday.
So stupid and funny.
Just for fun I created a Tron wallet and almost immediately I started getting upvotes from one of Justin Sun's minions...
Maybe bittrex can sell all this STEEM for BTC or ETH.
I hear Mr. Tron likes to buy large chunks of STEEM.
LOL the steem community really know how to not roll over I love it
A very interesting turn of events to say the least. You are correct, he is not likely to back down from this.
We will see what the next step is. Messing with Bittrex is dangerous ground.

Everyone just needs a few more weeks to get their steem out!!
I think he'll do that...All steps are towards insanity only.
All Justin Sun needs is to make sure Bittrex doesn't want to unlist Steem and instead apply all the hard forks that are necessary to make sure funds of HIVE supporters are redirected to new sockpuppet account that Justin Sun can control.
As I see, eventually shit will hit the fan and Justin Sun makes a fool out of himself like all the Nigerian princes.
One could say that karma made Sun her bitch today. Whoever that guy is, he's the Robin Hood of all those who saw their funds stolen by the shithead who bought Steemit. I wonder why he's not quitting this masquerade. He could power down by now sell his tokens and leave it as it is. He had to complicate things and act as a jerk that he is. Now he got the best deal of his life. I also believe that some time will pass until bittrex will return those funds to their users and meanwhile STEEM will appreciate. Once all the funds will get into their owners hands the massive dump will begin and Justin might have to wait for another year or so to see the price back to current levels. Whoever that Korean is, has my respect, although I wasn't affected in any way by the fork .
Haha, I just noticed I've been kicked out of the SCT server because I bet everyone jumped in there to gloat like they always do.
The battle is about to began.
Waiting what sun has to display
this is too entertaining 😎
팝콘이나먹자 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I got up, and opened discord to have a crap ton of notifications from @moowoof. He was trying to tell me about this and wow is it intense.
