The Temple Crag hike up to the seven lakes in the Eastern Sierras is considered a difficult hike, put 80 pounds on your back and its another story. I just recently had the chance to go up with some friends. The hike was well worth it after packing to stay for 2 nights and 2 days. The hike itself took about 5-6 hours to get to lake number 3, with frequent stops along the way. But i will say yes, hiking with the extra wait is all the more worth it. We got snowed on the first night as temperatures got down to 14 degrees, and the second night cleared up for me to take this long exposure night shot. Nonetheless the days were had nice clear weather with moderate winds.
