America: The Greatest Country On Earth?
As soon as I started to write this post I was reminded of a great clip from the TV show "The Newsroom".
In the scene Jeff Daniels, playing a reporter in the show is on a talk-show panel. A girl in the audience asks the question..."Why is America the greatest country in the world?". His answer is fully truthful...check out the video, but a summation is that it simply isn't. Americans are brainwashed to believe that we are but when it comes to the metrics...we simply aren't.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="
frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>So Maybe It Isn't...but the question is irrelevant...because America is legally NOT a country at all.
Well, that's not entirely true. There are two entities that America are...one is the country founded in 1786. The other...the more powerful one...the one who controls the other America is a corporation. Registered and all.
For some reason this "conspiracy theory" doesn't get raised often. I say conspiracy theory because it's not common knowledge and what most are taught in school...so it is what most would refer to it as, but in-fact it's a non-conspiratorial truth.
I would write an article but it would be hard to not plagiarize as I'd be citing the two best sources that exist on the subject and both are written in a manner that would be useless to reword. Most people copy and paste here anyway.
The long and short of the story is that this whole thing stems from an act passed by Congress in 1871. Essentially, with a piece of legislation that they used to make Washington D.C. (the District of Columbia) the entity it is now, a few small changes were make in the legislation that makes the public-facing side of the U.S. a CORPORATION with no real duty to the country that is the USA.
Why does all this matter? It matters because, we as Americans are being persecuted by rules not done by a 'democratic government' with our best interests in-mind. It matters because even if you "own" your house, you actually don't the corporation does. The list goes on.
If you want a more technical and legal analysis of the story take a look at this site..it breaks down the legalese as to what's up with country vs. corporation: http://teamlaw.net/Mythology-CorpUS.htm
For a more 'storified' or entertaining read take a look at this article: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/united-states-america-country-corporation-mohsen-salehi-t-gemba
As a man running for office once said, "Corporations are people!"
legally, that's entirely true. personhood was granted to corporations as a clerk's typo many years ago.
thanks for the comment. following you.
I think what most people worry about, I'd even argue its on my mind as well, is that a small group of "stock holders" own all the shares in this corporation we call the US of A. I see cryptocurrency disrupting that, but not stopping it.
great point
I believe this is the case with most, if not all countries on planet Earth. The US, and those being part of the British Commowealth for sure, might be a bit off regarding the rest of the world.
For the most part I definitely agree. But the structure and blatant legalese regarding the US as a corporation shines as one of the brightest ones to me.

I believe with the rise of cryptocurrencies the corporation will lose more and more power. The fall of the dollar will simply add to the woes.
Great point. Followed.
I just hope the fallout does not have too detrimental an effect, unfortunately I think the impact will be felt on a global scale.

It might be time for people t wake up from there comfort ;-)
@annabest - Always enjoyed this series even though it reflected on stories that were true and allowed the news team to interrogate the stories more truthfully and in-depth content. I feel bad for soldiers going to war to fight for the interests of the corporation instead of defending the ideals and values of the US.
Anyone who enjoyed this post would also like the book, Unequal Protection: How Corporations Became People by Thom Hartmann. It's one of the best I've ever read.
