I'm from India and the follower of Hindu Religion. According to Hinduism , Garuda is the vehicle of lord Vishnu and it is a common sight to see Garuda and Hunuman(Monkey headed god) on the left and right of the Vishnu deity respectively.
Horus seems to have really similar appearance as Garuda but I'm im not sure if thier History is the same.
But nevertheless it was so interesting for me at a personal level to read about Horus and try figure the parallels between him and Garuda.😊

I'm not sure if the history is the same either but there may have been some event or visitation in deepest antiquity that inspired the stories of both Horus and Garuda independently of each other.
I wrote a number of posts in my 'When does a myth become truth' series in the past that involved Hinduism and the stories from the Veda's. What a fantastic 'historical record' they are. I believe that real history is encoded in many of the ancient myths and hope one day the truth regarding the 'Gods' of the past can be revealed. Thanks for reading and commenting friend.
I was born in a really Religious family, that fact naturally made sure that i grew up being a believer of some kind of superpower.
This always made me a spiritual seeker, always inquisitive learn something about Superpower or Paramatma.
