At present time, studies about titanic has been rampant. And with that, new discovery about the reason of its sinking has been found.

Titanic seems very indestructible with all the effort, material and money lended into its construction. It seems very unreasonable that this ship sank just because of an iceberg.

A present study shows that, iceberg is not the only factor that causes its sinking but also because of fire. Journalist Senan Molony, who’s been studying titanic’s case for more than 30 years, found out on his study about a certain 30ft long black spot on the ship. He noticed it on the photo taken before the departure of the titanic’s ship. It is said that those black spot was because of a burning for 3 weeks to which in metallurgical study will weaken the property of the material. After sometime of investigation he found out that, that part of ship was exactly where the iceberg hit. If it’s not just because of the weakened material, the ship couldn’t have been destroyed.

The ship also have a very splendid facility, from the rooms, to the different kind of services offer and to the different kind of enjoyment facilities while sailing but one thing that is seemingly surprising, is that, there are no binoculars which is one of the very important equipment a ship should have.

Having binoculars could’ve saved the ship. After sometime of studies, it was found out that the binoculars on the ship during that historic sail were locked in one of the rooms of the ship.

Second officer David Blair, who have the key of the room, was replaced moments before the ship departs. He was in such hurry to leave the ship the he forgot to hand the key to the new second officer hired. This fateful forgetfulness was only found out three days after when the ship is already at the ocean. If they only have the binoculars, then they could’ve noticed the icebergs and will have enough time to save the ship.

Another factor is that, the ship is sailing beyond its standard speed. Due to some certain circumstances, the ship was falling behind schedule and being late in its scheduling will surely affect its reputation specially that it was their first sail. If only the ship was sailing for its standard speed and not hitting its full limit, the impact of the ship hitting the iceberg could’ve been less or it could’ve been that they will have more time to notice the iceberg.

Lifeboat equipped in the ship is also worth mentioning in this speculation. The standard lifeboat that the titanic should be equipped of should be 60 lifeboats but because it looks too crowded on the deck of the ship, they reduced it to 20 lifeboats to which it can only save 1/3 of the total population of the ship. What’s more attention-grabbing is that, lifeboat drills are standard before sailing in the ocean but because of some unknown reason the drill was cancelled before the ship sail perhaps this is why it took half an hour to launch the lifeboat instead of its standard ten minutes.

During the sinking, the crew of the titanic sent several distress signals. However, the ship sailing nearby didn’t notice the signal. Recent studies proved why the signal was not noticed by the ship that was sailing nearby, which is the Californian, and the reason is because of the phenomenon called light refraction.

Lack of awareness, tragic and unfortunate chain of coincidences, fire or ice, whatever the reason of its sinking, it took hundreds of lives of people to which up until now keep the mind of the people interested in it busy. What about you? Which fact should you believe?

Yes light refraction. Also when they turned to avoid the iceberg it clawed into the side. A direct hit might have destroyed the iceberg.

So many factors worked to bring this ship down. Quite sad. It could have been one ofbthe strongest ships ever.
I hope the officer who forgot to hand over the key was prosecuted or something. So many lives lost over one man's forgetfulness/carelessness.
