Firstly, I want to state the fact that I am really surprised to know that autopsy was already in existence as at 1835. Also, I believe the story of Joyce heh being a nurse to George Washington was a deception Barnum agreed with her to do. Firstly it gave them financial benefits and endorsement to the crowd, wetting their curiosity as to what this nurse to the great Washington had to offer. Also, Barnum made financial rewards from the autopsy of the lady, knowing fully well that the people would like to confirm if what this lady had said was true. It sure was a profitable adventure for him.
