Among the famous Siberians there are many musicians, actors and writers. There are well-known sportsmen, but Maria Sharapova is more famous than everyone else.
The former first racket of the world was born in the Tyumen region, in the city of Nyagan. It is interesting that Maria was born in Siberia because of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Parents athletes lived in Gomel, but after the accident decided to leave for a more environmentally safe place. The choice fell on the Tyumen region, there lived the parents of her mother.
Sharapova said that her parents did not know anything about the possible harm from the accident, as the local residents were not told, but the relatives from Siberia were aware of and forced her parents to move. The sportswoman herself believes that the Chernobyl accident could affect her health - she is higher than everyone in her family, she always assumed that maybe this was due to the fact that her mother, being pregnant, drank water and ate fruit that could grow in places with increased radiation.
After the birth of Mary in Nyagan, parents decided to change their residence again, they moved to a warmer place - in Sochi. It was there in four years that the future sportswoman began to train. But even there the tennis player lived only a few years. At the age of seven, she moved to the United States, where she trained. At the same time, she remained as a Russian sportswoman. Although Sharapova's relationship with her homeland remains complicated.
Not everyone approves of the fact that the sportswoman lives in the USA, and Maria herself said that she would recommend that foreigners visit Russia in St. Petersburg, although she did not go there herself, and Siberia could be missed, because there is nothing to do there.
And about moving to the US Sharapova said that she was sure that she could not have made such a career if she continued to train in Russia. According to her, the reason would be only that in those years when she came to the sport, in Russia it was not developed.
For the first time on a professional court the athlete went to 13 years old at competitions, where 16-year-old girls play. And three years later she already took part in adult competitions. Of course, Sharapova immediately won the tennis fans and their sports skills and pleasant appearance and loud cries on the court.
Later, she first met her main rival - the Siren Williams. Later, in her autobiography, The Expendables, Sharapova says that Williams is the embodiment of her victories and failures and their fates are intertwined.
In recent years, the athlete began to fail: her once powerful first and second gear began to weaken, and after a scandal with doping was added.
Now Sharapova became more active in business. She being so very successful in the commercial industry sportswoman, decided to release her brand of sweets - Sugarpova. Experts say that it can hardly compete for the first places, but it is still easy to receive awards in individual tournaments.
