Canada Postage Stamps

The Large Queen Dominion of Canada series was issued from 1868-1876. The first in this series was the 1/2 Cent Queen. It came in 2 shades, Black and Grey Black. 6,700,000 were ordered. In very fine mint condition, it can be valued as high as $125 ($100 US).

1/2 Queen Victoria

The next stamp in this series is the 1 Cent Queen Victoria. It came in only one shade, Brown Red. 4,610,000 were ordered. In very fine condition, it fetches up to $1,000 ($800 US). If it has a ‘water mark” on it, than the price can quadruple!

One Cent Queen Victoria ~ Brown Red

There was a 2nd issue of the One Cent Queen Victoria. It came in 3 different shades, Yellow Orange, Deep Orange, and Yellow. 4,990,00 were ordered. Some catalogues value this stamp as high as $2,000 ($1,600 US).

I love stamps! These are really nice ones. It's interesting
that they issued that one cent Queen Victoria in three
shades of yellow and orange.

Wouldn't you LOVE to get your hands on a couple of
any of these stamps!? I would!

These ones are from my father’s collection. It’s a lot of fun going through his stamp books!

Rare objects that are hard to find. I like your post, because I just know there is a paper that pays thousands of dollars.

These stamps were Manufactured and surcharged by the American Bank Note Company, Limited, Ottawa.

That was really a good expository and a recap to the usage of stamps. Really interesting to remember that stapmps were used, even uptil now it is still in use but not as rampant as in the olden days.
