As far as the hats go, they seem similar to some of the Mexican ones I've seen from the same period. I suppose that makes sense, though.

There is a banditry museum in Ronda, Spain, where I lived that has some amazingly well-preserved clothes and weaponry from the same era. Actually, if you ever get the chance, Andalucía was very similar to the American Old West in many ways.
