On this day: Concorde breaks speed record

On this day, September 26th 1973, the supersonic aircraft Concorde makes its first atlantic crossing flight and breaks the speed record. Flight from Washington D.C. to Paris, France took 3 hours and 32 minutes with an average speed of 954 miles per hours, which is more than 1535 km per hour.
