A Hurricane in History

Not only these days people are afraid of Hurricane like now with Irma approaching Florida and having destroyed already a lot. On September 8, 1900 it was in Texas when a deadly hurricane met Texas. It was one of the deadliest hurricanes in U.S. history. That day it hit Galveston killing more than 6,000 people. Some even believe that as many as 12,000 people were killed.

The hurricane reached 115 miles per hour and was "only" a Category 4 hurricane. It was reported that salt water spray from the ocean reached a height of 115 feet.

hurricanes are horrible... They're the most devastating storm on this planet. Luckily my family just survived Irma. Prayers out to all those suffering from these storms lately.
