Quarantine and the pursuit of Numismatics

in #history5 years ago

Good Afternoon Everybody!

I thought I would go ahead and share with you another couple of my recent numismatic pickups over this quarantine period! I don't know about you but I get itchy fingers and have to buy stuff when I'm just sitting around......

This beauty is a ticket to Centennial International Exhibition of 1876 that was held in Philadelphia. I like this old currency, or currency like stuff, printed paper, stocks, bonds and the like. They have a really neat look and a really neat feel to them. A miniature historic document every single one of them.

Here we have another (see previous) one of those obsolete 50 cent currency notes that were prevalent in the Southern States during the time of the American Civil War. This time around it is from the state of Alabama, 1863. Another neat piece of history. Honestly, they just don't design notes like this any more.

I guess there will probably be two more of these little articles on my quarantine pick ups to do as of right now. I could of course always get the fever and need to buy something else though!

Thanks again for your time and attention!
