Beautiful monument honoring Louis Charles Joseph Blériot .....(1 July 1872 – 1 August 1936).....
was a French aviator, inventor and engineer....
Among other things....He developed the first practical headlamp for trucks! LOL....
In 1909 he became world-famous for making the first flight across the English Channel !!!!
and winning the prize of 1000 pounds!!! offered by the Daily Mail newspaper....
and founder of one of the first successful aircraft manufacturing companies.
What an interesting life he must have led.....
