History of Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Mother Teresa of Calcutta was an Albanian religious of Indian nationality, born in the bosom of a devout family. Her mother was the one who awakened in her the vocation of being a missionary. With just two years of age she joined the Mariana Congregation (the daughters of Mary). At the age of eighteen, she gathered at the Order of Our Lady of Loreto, in the city of Bengal she acquired the name of Teresa. When the vows were over, he went to Calcutta, the city where he consecrated his life and vocation on behalf of the most needy.
For almost nineteen years, she practiced as a teacher and this allowed her to observe the misery that abounded in the streets. Upon knowing this reality, she asked Father Pio XXII for the license to dedicate himself to the causes of the needy. The main purpose of Mother Teresa of Calcutta was to take the message of God's love to the poorest, to tell her that God is in us and that he loves us all.
She lived for a time in Paris to study nursing and return to India once her career was over. Together with the missionary sisters, he opened his first school for children. In 1950 year he adopted the Indian nationality, the congregation founded the Lady of Charity, in his congregation the members had to dedicate themselves to the most needy in the different cities of the world where this order would work or would be, they would dedicate themselves to taking care of the dying without to import what religion or race they come from.
The prestige of the Mother of Teresa and all her work full of love for her neighbor and especially for the poor and most needy led the Holy See to the United Nations World Conference held in Mexico City in 1975 the International Year of Women, also received the Nobel Peace Prize. Finally, after overcoming several health crises at 87 years old, he entered the intensive care unit in Calcutta, where he died. Six years after her death in October 2003 at the celebration of the 25th anniversary, the mother was beatified at a Mass where faithful from all over the world participated.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta was a fighter and splendid woman since from a very early age her vocation was religion and she dedicated herself to work for the poor, sick, orphaned and dying. Her great dedication was simply to be Catholic, her kindness was so great that she visited the whole world carrying hopes full of love, attention and vocation of service addressed to all, but especially to the poorest and most needy.
