Ever wondered how come A bunny or bunny eggs became a symbol for the Easter celebration?
I have always wondered why, considering the fact that a bunny was never mentioned in the Bible in connection to the death or resurrection of Jesus.

What is Easter?

Easter is a famous Christian holiday thats celebrates the death and rebirth/resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Although I'm not a Christian, I read the Bible sometimes and soo many other religious books. Not for anything but to gain more knowledge about these religions.

According to the Bible, Jesus was killed by the Romans after being betrayed by Judas Iscariot (one of his twelve disciples). Three days later, he was said to have risen from death.
This event signifies the Easter celebration.

But, it baffles me that no where in the Bible was a Easter bunny or a Easter bunny egg mentioned. Nevertheless, The Easter bunny is a major picturesque symbolising the Easter celebration in today's modern world.
So let's see how this came into being!!!!!

Firstly, the word "Easter" itself comes from a pagan figure "Eastre" A German goddess of spring and fertility. A bunny and bunny eggs were symbols of the goddess during its festivals as egg symbolises fertility.

History has it that during the widespread of christainity. Inorder to convince the pagans to accept the new religion. They agreed to fuse in some pagan practices into christainity with the sole aim of luring the pagan into christainity while they continue their own traditional worships.
It's interesting to note that the chosen date for the Easter celebration is historically said to be the same festive day for Eastre and her symbol "bunny eggs" becoming the symbol for Easter celebration also.

Another example of this is the famous Christmas Day celebration(birth of Jesus) and Santa Claus being it's famous symbol(of pagan origin also)

There are sooo many other historical myths and believe toward this topic but this is the most famous.

Nevertheless, Easter celebration is always fun. It is a great time for merriment and visiting old time friends and family. There's always so much to eat, drink and so much to talk about.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!!

NOTE:
ALL THESE FACTS WERE GOTTEN FROM THE INTERNET AND I AM NOT BY ANY MEANS TRYING TO ANTAGONIZE ANY RELIGION.

It's left for we, Christians, to know what we believe in. I think it's a way to shadow what it really means, Santa for Jesus, bunny for Easter and so on. God help us.
