With my 36 entry, there is no disputing the central argument that, the first POTUS (President of the United States) not only grew hemp, he even promoted it in his writings!
Further, he was sophisticated enough in his growing to know, the Sex Of Cannabis plant determined its fate. On August 7, 1765, he wrote that he
"Began to separate the male from the female hemp - Rather too late"
THE FIRST POTUS
George Washington (February 22, 1732 - December 14, 1799) was a US general, political leaderand, statesman and active player in gaining independence from the United States of North America colonies.
In 1775, he was appointed supreme commander of all the military forces of the colonies revolted against England. He played a decisive role in organizing the American Army that won the victories of Saratoga (1777) and Yorktown (1781), decisive for the achievement of the independence of the United States of America.
In 1787, Washington was the president of the Constitutional Convention that adopted the United States Constitution in force today. As president between 1789 and 1797, Washington pursued a conservative internal policy, and on the outside it was an advocate of isolationism.
On the occasion of his farewell speech in 1797, he urges the United States to intervene as little as possible in the political affairs of the world and, above all, not to join any European Nation in the event of a conflict on the old continent.
Ben Franklin & George Washington Smoked Weed
W&W (Washington & Weed)
Washington may have been well aware of the intoxicating effects of the flowers created by female cannabis plants, and while there’s no evidence that he did smoke Cannabis to get stoned or possibly inspired the revolt against British tyranny, there’s no evidence that he did not smoke pot, either.
He grew hemp at Mount Vernon, for about 30 years from approximately (1745-1775). He had a selected interest within the healthful use of Cannabis, and several other of his diary entries indicate that he so was growing Cannabis with a high THC content – Marijuana.
Regardless, it’s highly fitting that both the U.S. state and the nation’s capital named in his honor have legalized recreational weed. Speaking to the power of cannabis in early American History, he was not the last POTUS to grow and promote the plant.
Did G.W Smoke Weed?
Washington's writings only mention Pulling Hemp (Harvesting) and not smoking it, but I believe, the young George who born into a family of tobacco growers, smoked the #Weed. What you think!
