AVOIDING THE DEATH SENTENCE
After refreshing in the clean and cold river Cetina, we continued our trip .
Our desire to see Split grew stronger, despite of a long way ahead of us.
Split is the second-largest city in Croatia and the largest city in the Dalmatia region.
Although the beginnings of Split as a city are associated with the ancient palace built for the roman emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, the city was founded several centuries earlier as a Greek colony. Diocletian built the monumental palace in preparation for his retirement.
The news about me preparing a conspiracy against the Emperor was so powerful and has spread across the city like an echo.
Two Roman soldiers blocked my way and put the sword under my neck.
I explained to them that, by the presumption of innocence, everyone is innocent and no one can be considered guilty of a criminal offense until they are not found guilty by a valid court verdict. They realized I was right and I was remanded on bail-30kn, which is how much I have paid for these photos.
This is the statue of Gregory of Nin, a medieval Croatian bishop from Nin. Legend says if you catch him by his toe, your wish will come true.
You can try to guess what I have wished for: to be freed from guilt, to get as many votes on Steemit or something else....hmmm
As the night was falling, we did not stay in Split for a long time.
I greeted Diocletian and ran away, happily avoiding the death sentence.
I'm glad you weren't hung for treason! Very nice read :)
Thank you :)
Great Work...
Thanks :)
