Imagine that: time is B.C 13. Century. Two major power of its time: Kingdom of Egypt and Hittite Empire. Because of several reasons they start fighting. Battle of Qadesh is took place between that two powers. Qadesh is located modern Syria lands. Historically there are many result of that battle and Treaty after it.
After couples of millenniums, its Hittite copy found in 1906 at capital city Hattusa(modern Turkey, Boğazkale district of Çorum Province). Some part of that clay tablet is damaged.
If you want to see that historical amazing artifact, you can visit Istanbul Archeology Museum.
It is really one of my favorite artifact to see. Whenever i see that clay tablet, i feel a time travel.
You can find it in Museum of the Ancient Orient gallery.
There's nothing new under the sun, I guess. Human nature does not really change. There is always conflict and there is always a need to resolve conflict.
it is "wheel of time/history". The only changes are names, locations. Rest of things are same. We should learn and get lesson from history. That artifacts are evidence of life.
Really cool. This peace treaty was completed some 1300 years before Matthew wrote, "Blessed are the Peacemakers."
still impresses human history ;)
This is very cool! In 1906 they still etched treaties into tablets? Or did I miss something about the date of the signing?
no, it is discovered in 1906 :) They found those clay tablets in archeological excavations.
Yeah after i re-read it I found it! Thx tho!!
Excelent article
It is a peace treaty signed between the Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II and the Hittite king Hattusili III and dates from 1269 BC. It marked the end of the negotiations that followed some important armed conflicts that culminated in the famous battle of Qadesh, fought between fifteen and sixteen years before between the two powers of the time. The agreement was aimed at the establishment of peaceful relations between both parties.

Thank you and to you, too. :) It is not important just to discover, we should understand also.
Lovely.
i agree, too :)
Humans tend to solve a problem, forget they solved it and resolve it again or constitute other headaches and have to reapply their solutions. This is cos they assess their feelings and make decisions based on it. When a problem is resolved, the feeling about it changes to a positive vibe. Unfortunately, future generations who were not party to the resolution may not feel the same way as others who resolved the problems felt. This is why treaties are bent, cast aside or sometimes outrightly destroyed.
There has been no generation that didn't know the advantages of peace in the end.
i hope they will understand the meaning and value of the peace
