Yesterday i posted a short blog about the historical figures in a game called Civilization V, if you have not seen it here is the link:

This gave me an idea for a blogging series so the first of many will begin with; as the title says Kamehameha of Polynesia AKA Kamehameha the Great.
Above is a portrait of Kamehameha
History
Kamehameha founded and was the first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawaii, his reign began in 1782 and ended with his death in 1812, it is not exactly known when he was born and people speculate that it was sometime between 1736-1761.
Accomplishments
The most notable (to name a few) accomplishments of Kamehameha were, the abolishment of the human sacrifice and being the first person to unify the islands of Hawaii creating one of few independent Polynesian nations. His accomplishments later on earned him the nickname of "Napoleon of the Pacific".
Above is a statue of Kamehameha given to the National
Statuary Hall Collection in Washington D.C
Kamehameha died on may 1812 and his body as per tradition was hidden so that none may steal his power/mana.
Discussion
I did not know of this historical figure until recently and always thought Kamehameha was just Goku's ultimate move (Dragon Ball fans know what i mean) to find out that he was a real person quite surprised me.
If you found this interesting consider upvoting, resteeming and following.
Nice story, i love the game Civilization V, and i kike anime, great post
Likewise i will be doing Sejong tomorrow i think.
Nice historical story. I don't know a whole lot about Hawaii, other than the fact that they came up with Aloha, which means love. The tradition and culture is you say Aloha in greeting and Aloha when leaving. It is a very powerful social tool that makes one remember that life is about love.
The Hawaiian people sure know how to respect one another thanks for commenting .
I think of the Hawaiian people as the social geniuses of our times. Such a cultural practice makes it hard to not know that life is about love.
