The musical composition was recorded on a clay tablet dating from the 14th century BC. E. C., and was discovered by a group of North American archaeologists during the decade of the 50, in the city of Ugarit, region of the ancient Sumerian civilization. On the tablets you could see some type of inscription, signs in hurrian language.
After a thorough observation, the researchers were surprised to note that it was a musical composition, the oldest piece of music ever discovered: a cult hymn more than 3400 years old. The piece confirms the theory that diatonic scale of 7 notes, as well as harmony, existed for 3 thousand 400 years.
This interpretation, by the artist Michael Levy, used a lyre, which would be the instrument more faithful or closer to what the Sumerians would have used in their hymn. Play it!! :)
