Bhangarh.... Haunted place with a lot of secrets !!
The Bhangarh Fort is a 17th-century fort which is built in the Rajasthan (State of India). Built by Bhagwant Das for his younger son Madho Singh. Located on the border of the Sariska Reserve in the Aravali range of hills in Alwar district of Rajasthan.
There are two different stories about Bhangarh Fort:
Curse of Sadhu
Baba Balu Nath lived within the fort area. It was his desire that any house built in the area of the fort should not be taller than his house & if the shadow of any such house fell on his house then it would result in destruction of the entire fort town. But, successors of Madho Singh made the wall of fort vertically high shadow of what fell on the house of Baba Balu Nath.
Curse of Witch
According to another story: N.K. Sinhai who was the wizard with adept in black magic, fell in love with Ratnavati. She was the princess of Bhangarh. She was very beautiful and had suitors to marry her from many royal families of the country. One day the princess went shopping with her friends & was buying Ittar. The wizard saw this and replaced the scent with a love potion in order to ensnare the princess. He offered the potion to her so that she would take a liking to him and marry him. The princess sensed the wizard's trick. When he offered her the bowl of potion she threw it onto a big boulder nearby. Then the boulder started rolling down towards the wizard and crushed him. Before he died he made a curse that Bhangarh would be destroyed soon and no one would be able to live within its precincts. All the people in the fort were killed.
No one is allowed to remain in the precincts of the fort at night as per the notice board put up by the Archaeological Survey of India. No one is allowed to enter the fort premises after sunset & before sunrise. Some peoples opted for a night stay in the fort but never made a return from the fort the next morning. Hence strict restrictions have been imposed, everyone have to leave the fort premises before dusk. The main entrance to the fort is locked and remains out of harm’s way till the next morning. Bhangarh Fort is on number one for the most haunted places in India & is one of the main tourist’s attractions for people visiting Rajasthan.
