Depends on your idea of quality I guess.
Let me explain in short form a typical lifestyle of a member of a group of hunter-gatherers (the !kung) living today.
Major activities include:
Gathering food, (in groups where the majority of the time is spent talking and conversing with other members)
Being outside the majority of the day (getting sunlight, staying upright, exercising the body)
In groups make food for whole community,
Celebrations and many activities throughout the week.
Hunting (people in our culture spend money and go out of their way to make time for such activities because of how engaging and fun it can be.)
The above constitutes what we have labeled 'work'. This time takes up approximately "one camp of !Kung Bushmen was estimated to work two-and-a-half days per week, at around 6 hours a day."
Then, General around the house chores which are often diverse.
Plenty of leisure.
Typical developed life:
Monday-friday spend 1+ hours sitting in a car, often in traffic.
Spend 8+ hours typically working 5+ days a week.
Majority of people work indoors sitting down. (so that we have to take up extra-time to work-out in order to make up the physical exercise we're lacking)
Find time on weekends (possibly) to get some sunshine.
Eat out at lunch and dinner (no connection to food source).
I feel like I could go on for a while, but maybe this is enough to make my point. I guess it would really depend on what lifestyle you would prefer. Now, I am in no way advocating mimicking hunter gatherers or suggesting we mimic any other culture. I am merely pointing out the glaring defects in our current system so as to motivate a desire for something substantially better...
