  • The previous Minister of Finance Joseph Wirth (center) is appointed by Reich President Friedrich Ebert (SPD) to the new Reich Chancellor.He forms a cabinet from members of his party, the SPD and the DDP.

  • After a heated debate, the Swedish Reichstag with a large majority assumes the proposal of the Social Democratic Government of Prime Minister Hjalmar Brake, to abolish the death penalty.

  • In the Teatro Valle in Rome, Luigi Pirandless Drama "Six people are looking for an author" premiered.
