Ramblings of an adult under construction

Honestly, I don’t usually talk about my personal life and I think it’s a funny contradiction because this is a good platform to tell my life experiences which can be accurately vague, and actually this post is about one of those, something I’ve been asking myself since I was 18, What does it mean to be an adult?

A month ago I started a process, a conscience test of sorts, where I’ve understood that sometimes you go on paths you thought would define your whole life, but then they turn in interesting ways. For the biggest part of my adult life, I’ve wanted to be an engineer and I used to work part time with my mother or selling cleaning products to get money while I finished the career. But when I finally got sincere with myself (this is all in my previous post if you want more details) and my decision of becoming a photography director I understood some things about adulthood. You see, even though, the quality of my photos isn’t that good yet, I feel fortunate to be able to capture a moment, any moment. And in a occasion scrolling trough I found myself thinking “I wish I had the chance to take photos so beautiful that transmit emotions like the ones these photographers make me feel”. And then I knew, that even though Photography Is not the most lucrative career in the world, that I didn’t want to start my adult life with a job I didn’t like because then I’d become frustrated and would transmit it to my family. Also, people like Pol Turrents and their blogs keep me motivated.

That was a preamble a little bit long and personal but I wanted you to get my point of view about adulthood, I believe that being an adult is understand that our responsibilities are our duty with ourselves and with the world; therefore, taking the right decision in youth would impact in the way you’re going to reach the end of your life, I’m not saying that you should cut off the fun, just that from now on, analyze every step you take. Because I wasted four years of my life on a failed goal, perhaps If I had made an analysis I could have spared all this. However, I don’t really regret it because It has taught me a lot about myself and set me in the starting point of the race, well, more like on the bus to get to the race, If you get what I mean,

I hope this random thoughts may be of some use for you.
