Following up the trend of greasy and tasty fast food, I wanted to show you something different. It isn't a Venezuelan creation as far as I'm concerned. It is something I used to watch in Colombian foodies' videos on social media. It is called a Salachipapa (it refers to mix of sausage and fries).
The similarities between this and what we call Papas mixtas (mixed fries) are there. The former has sausages and cheese to cover the fries. The latter has a mix of beef, chicken, and other proteins. However, I think Salchipapas can have more toppings.
This one in the photos is supposed to be something for 2 people. I was hungry and had it all for me. Needless to say, I was overwhelm by the grease factor of the food. It can be tasty and solve some cravings, but sharing makes it bearable. I had a apple soda with it to counter the saltiness of the dish. Something tells me they put salt on the fries and then of the sausage. Maybe it gets salty because of the grill. Who knows?
This one is a dish I wouldn't recommend trying at La Sazón. Their burgers and hot dogs are way better anyways. You can't ace every category of fast food when everything is usually related to the quantity of it that is out on a plate.
I don't recall why this was my order that night. I think it was because we had been drinking and wanted something to avoid being hungover next morning. So grease and sodium were on my radar. I gotta say this delivered a bit too much, but I wouldn't mind sharing an order of this with another person.
