Especialmente la cocina, como dicen por allí “por la boca muere el pez”, Como mujeres y madres debemos preocuparnos por preparar buenos alimentos para así obtener el buen mérito de que nos digan “tienes buena sazón”. Durante estos últimos 8 meses por mi situación de salud, mi hija se ha tenido que incorporar de manera más activa a la cocina, cosa que me encanta.
Especially the kitchen, as they say "the fish dies by the mouth", as women and mothers we must worry about preparing good food to get the good merit of being told "you have good seasoning". During these last 8 months due to my health situation, my daughter has had to incorporate more actively to the kitchen, which I love.
En ocasiones como esta me voy ayudante y le explicó algunas cosas. Es muy bueno cocinar con la ayuda de alguien más, el trabajo se hace más rápido. Ahora bien, una de las cosas que hacemos para coordinar la preparación, es averiguar juntas qué ingredientes tenemos disponibles, cuál será el concepto del plato y lo que hará cada una.
On occasions like this I go and help her and explain some things to her. It is very good to cook with the help of someone else, the work is done faster. Now, one of the things we do to coordinate the preparation, is to find out together what ingredients we have available, what will be the concept of the dish and what each one will do.
Para está pasta con pollo salteado con vegetales, contamos con una papa, zanahoria, repollo, cebolla, pechuga de pollo, aderezos.
For this pasta with sautéed chicken and vegetables, we have a potato, carrot, cabbage, onion, chicken breast, dressing.
Una de mis funciones fue asegurarme de lavar todo muy bien con agua de vinagre, desde los vegetales hasta el pollo. Por estos días han habido muchos casos de personas enfermas del estómago, entre ellas mi esposo y yo. Por eso tomamos ciertas precauciones de higiene para los alimentos.
One of my duties was to make sure to wash everything very well with vinegar water, from the vegetables to the chicken. These days there have been many cases of people getting sick to their stomachs, including my husband and me. That's why we take certain hygiene precautions for the food.
Jeraldine estaba lista para picar todo en juliana, como se muestra en la imágen. También el pollo en tiras delgadas. El cual procedí a aderezar con cúbito, salsa de soja y orégano.
Jeraldine was ready to chop everything into julienne strips, as shown in the picture. Also the chicken in thin strips. I proceeded to dress it with cube, soy sauce and oregano.
Con el repollo me tocó hacer varios pasos, les explico… lo primero que hice fué colocarlo en un recipiente con agua y vinagre. Posteriormente Jeraldine lo picó en tiritas muy delgadas para que nuevamente lo volviéramos a pasar por agua de vinagre, se pasó por agua caliente, se escurre en un colador, le agregué agua fría y finalmente lo metí por unos minutos al refrigerador.
With the cabbage I had to do several steps, let me explain... the first thing I did was to place it in a bowl with water and vinegar. Then Jeraldine chopped it into very thin strips so that we could put it back in the vinegar water, ran it through hot water, drained it in a colander, added cold water and finally put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
Cuándo todo estuvo listo, se inició la cocción, para eso se sofríe el ajo con un toque de aceite con onoto, se le agrega la cebolla y posteriormente las tiritas de pollo ya condimentadas.
When everything was ready, the cooking started, for that we sautéed the garlic with a touch of oil with onoto, added the onion and then the chicken strips already seasoned.
Una vez que logramos incorporar todos estos ingredientes procedemos a colocarles la zanahoria y la papa revolvemos bien. Recordé que tenía unos aliños congelados y procedí a colocarle una pequeña porción más que todo de cebollín, ajo porro, cilantro y perejil. Mezclamos todo bien y tapamos para su cocción.
Once all these ingredients are incorporated, add the carrot and potato and stir well. I remembered that I had some frozen seasonings and proceeded to add a small portion of chives, garlic, cilantro and parsley. We mixed everything well and covered for cooking.
Después que todos estos vegetales han alcanzado su cocción adecuada, procedemos a colocarle el repollo que está previamente refrigerado con la intención de que quede crujiente y tenga una textura firme, lo dejamos cocinar alrededor de unos 5 minutos y listo. Este es el momento oportuno de probar para verificar si es necesario agregar un poco más de sal. Yo diría que esté pollo quedó en su punto. Cuando le di a mi esposo a probar me dijo que estaba “exquisito”. 😋😋
After all these vegetables have reached their proper cooking time, we proceed to add the previously refrigerated cabbage so that it gets crispy and has a firm texture, we let it cook for about 5 minutes and that's it. This is the right time to taste to verify if it is necessary to add a little more salt. I would say that this chicken is just right. When I gave it to my husband to taste he said it was "exquisite". 😋😋
Como verán se acompañó de una pasta larga. Como familia nos hemos acostumbrado a comer en pequeñas porciones y bueno esta preparación fue suficiente para los tres y para el plato adicional que siempre con cariño apartamos para mi hermana Elida.
As you will see it was accompanied by a long pasta. As a family we have become accustomed to eating in small portions and well this preparation was enough for the three of us and for the additional dish that we always lovingly set aside for my sister Elida.
Quiero agradecerles por haber pasado por acá y que no olviden tanto las madres como los padres sacar tiempo para enseñarle a sus hijos adolescentes cómo preparar los alimentos ya que esto les servirá a ellos en algún momento de sus vidas, bien sea para cuando vivan solos o en pareja.
