Summer's Strange Kitchen - Easy Apple & Oats Breakfast Bars (5 Minute Recipe With Recipe Card)

This is probably the quickest and easiest way to get a toddler to eat apples and oats. Also a good replacement for the usual sugary snacks.

Apple & Oats Breakfast Bars

INGREDIENTS:

· 2 Apples, Grated
· I Teaspoon Butter
· 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Essence
· 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
· 1 Teaspoon Milk of Choice
· 1 Teaspoon Yoghurt
· 1 Tablespoon Sugar/Honey
· 1 Cup Oats
· I Teaspoon Nut Butter
· 50g Dark Chocolate

INSTRUCTIONS:

· In a large heavy saucepan, combine finely grated apples, vanilla, milk,
sugar/honey, nut butter, butter, cinnamon & yoghurt

· Cook together until starting to slightly bubble, then gradually stir in oats
· Place plastic cling wrap into bowl and lightly grease.

· Press oats mixture into bowl, fold cling wrap over top and press until not
crumbly , leave to set and cool
· In a glass bowl over some boiling water melt chopped dark chocolate

· Pour and spread melted chocolate over cooled oats mixture, then cut and
place in fridge to set.

That looks seriously tummy ! I heard that if you put chocolate on a healthy oat and apple bar, the calories in the choccy don't count.... 😁
