Last Sunday was Fellowship Sunday at our church, a special day when some of our brethren from other churches gathered with us, something that happened only once a month. Everyone always looked forward to this gathering because its a time that we will be able to reunite again with our friends from other churches.
After our last service in the afternoon, we felt like weren’t quite ready to part ways yet, so we decided to continue catching up over a dinner. The elders suggested Lapyahan, since it was one of the best nearby spot that offers fresh seafood and native Filipino dishes. Aside from that, it was just a short drive from our church, so it was the perfect choice.
When we arrived at lapyahan, first that we noticed was its simple and rustic charm. It wasn’t too big though, but it had enough space for families or groups who are looking for a place to enjoy a good meal together.
I also noticed that their staff was very welcoming. As soon as they saw us approaching, they instantly assisted us to our table. When they handed us the menu, I couldn't help but gasp at the prices because, honestly, it was a bit pricey which is similar to Lantaw Restaurant. But of course, we didn’t need to worry because the elders had us all covered haha, thanks to them!
They ordered some of our all-time favorite filipino dishes such as buttered shrimp, tinolang bangus, crispy pata, pancit, and of course, leche flan for dessert.
While eating, we talked about our life updates, stories from past fellowships, and little moments we had missed. It was one of those moments that reminded me of how blessed I am to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
By the time we finished eating, I felt truly grateful not just for the delicious food that we share but for the opportunity to spend quality time with my brethren in faith. Our monthly fellowships are always special and it’s something that we always look forward to, but that Sunday felt extra meaningful, fr.
So, If you’re ever looking for a place to catch up with friends or families while also enjoying delicious filipino dishes, I highly recommend this restaurant. That night was a reminder that sometimes, the simplest gatherings turn out to be the most unforgettable ones.
