How I Cook Adobong Manok

Hello! How are you? How's the new year? do you still have food left from a few days ago? LOL actually for us the deserts are still left but for the savory foods we have none. So the first food I am going to cook is Adobong Manok makes me pass from eating less nah I still have a few months to do my diet LOL. So whenever I cook I always ask my family what food they want me to cook this is the go-to recipe whenever there is chicken in the refrigerator. What food did you cook after the new year?



Ingredients I Used:

  • 1 Kilo of Chicken Wings
  • Tsp of crushed ginger
  • 6 tbsp of cooking oil
  • 4 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of ketchup
  • 1 tsp of seasoning
  • tsp of chili powder
  • 6 cups of water
  • 5 boiled egg
  • tsp of brown sugar
  • tbsp of white vinegar
  • 5 small potatoes
  • 2 small carrots
  • 1 small bell pepper
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 cube ginger


Cooking Time:

In a hot pan, I added six tablespoons of cooking oil.

And then I put in the potatoes first.

I fried it until the outside looks crispy.

Next, I fried the carrot like the potatoes until it looks crispy outside. Set them aside for later.

I first reduced the cooking oil to 2 tbsp. Now for the main part. I added the chicken wings cut in.

I fried them until the sides were golden brown.

Now I am adding the aromatics in, sautee them until the fragrance is out.

Next, I sautee the red bell pepper. I like to add it from the beginning. I like the flavor of it when It cooks until dissolved.

Then I added crushed pepper until my heart desired LOL.

For the flavor, I added 4 tablespoons of soy sauce.

Then I added 1 tablespoon of ketchup to balance the flavor.

To make it more delicious I added 1 teaspoon of seasoning.

Peeps here like spicy adobo, so I added one when they requested to make it spicy. I added a teaspoon of it.

Now all the aromatic and seasoning are added. I then added 6 cups of water.

I almost forgot, so I boiled some eggs too.

To make the sauce thicker I added a teaspoon of brown sugar.

And then I added a tablespoon of white vinegar.

Then cover it with a lid, and cook it until tender

When the water was reduced I added the fried potatoes and carrots.

When the carrots and potatoes were completely cooked, I added the boiled egg. I let it cook until the color of the egg changed.

Now the eggs change color it is ready to serve.

Yum, its the best with egg! I mean, adobong egg masarap din talaga no, I remember yan inuulam ko during college, simple pero masarap. I never tried it with carrot though.

Di ba! Pampadagdag sa ulam tas maabsorb niya yung sauce ng adobo! Best thing ever LOL. Try mo minsan pampadagdag lang ng gulay sa ulam. Hihihi
