Hello everyone, today I will take everyone to the kitchen to cook and today it's a special menu because it's been a while since I've made this menu to eat. Since it's not often available and it takes a long time to make, this menu is Beef Rumen Spicy Salad (Larb Sbi Nang). The menu is a Thai Isaan food menu. Actually, larb is usually made with various types of meat, but we can adapt it to anything but the ingredients are still the same, so today we're mixing Beef Rumen with beef. Let's start making it

Ingredients
  • Beef Rumen 200 g
  • Minced beef 200 g
  • Shallots 1-2
  • Leek leaves
  • Chili powder 1.5 tsp
  • Roasted rice 3 tsp
  • Fish sauce 1.5 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Lime 1, cut into halves
  • Seasoning powder 1/2 tsp
  • Kaffir lime leaves 5-10
  • Galangal, cut into 1 piece
  • Water 500 g
  • Vegetable oil 1 tbsp

Preparation steps

  • Wash Beef Rumen with clean water several times. Then boil it with plain water, add salt, lime leaves, galangal to remove the fishy smell, boil for about 20-25 minutes or until soft and tender.

  • When done, wash it again 1-2 times, remove the lime leaves and galangal, then wait. In the meantime, make the minced meat.

  • While waiting for the Beef Rumen to be tender, cut the shallots and spring onions into small pieces, then set aside and wait for the last step.

  • The minced meat that we have is frozen, we did not take it out of the refrigerator, so it is still frozen. Therefore, we will boil water with a little salt to make the water warm to melt it, leave it for about 5 minutes, the ice will melt, then wash off the water.

  • Then take the minced meat that has been washed and fry it in a hot pan without adding anything until it is almost dry, then add oil to make it a little oily, season with fish sauce, seasoning powder, continue to fry for a while, then add the Beef Rumen and fry it over low heat together.

  • After everything is mixed, turn off the heat to add more seasoning. By adding chili powder, lime, roasted rice, taste it, add more if you want the taste. The real taste will be salty, spicy, sour, and spicy.
