In Venezuela there is a queen among natural fruit smoothies, its name is tizana. This refreshing nectar that looks like a fruit salad submerged in a red liquid can be found in street stalls or in fruit shops... and the Venezuelan tizana is not only divine, it is also very attractive!

The tizana is one of the typical drinks of Venezuela, considered among the most popular in the country. This concoction is made with various juices and chopped fruits, all mixed together. The most common fruits for the elaboration of the patilla juice are peach, grapefruit and cambur while the chopped fruit pieces can be: pineapple, watermelon (patilla), banana (cambur or plantain), melon, papaya (lechosa), etc.

The most popular recipe adds other fruits such as grapes, apples, pears, oranges, etc. However, the use of some fruits depends on the region of Venezuela where you are. In fact, in some places, condensed milk is even added.

The recipe for this fruit tizana is very easy and the version we bring you does not need grenadine, which makes this fruit drink much healthier and natural. The patilla juice will give color and a sweet base flavor.

How to make Tizana
Chop the fruits into squares, except for the cambur, which looks much better in slices. The mandarin and orange segments can be cut in half.

Remember to remove all the seeds so that when you drink the tizana you won't find any. Place all the fruits in a bowl or a large pitcher.

Tip: If you prefer, you can leave some mandarin segments whole for decoration, but always without seeds.

Pour this natural juice into the bowl with the rest of the chopped fruit and mix everything very carefully to avoid breaking the fruit. Now place everything in a serving pitcher.
