Hoy es un buen día para contarles una anécdota que ocurrió con mi madre días atrás. Tiene 82 años y en su casa vivimos mi hija y yo. Con el tiempo se volvió un poco exigente con la comida y casi siempre que prueba nuevos platos para ella, suele decir que no le gustan. Eso pasa con dulces y salados, y vaya que tiene derecho a que no le guste lo que prueba. Yo respeto sus gustos tanto como ella respeta los míos.

Today is a good day to tell you an anecdote that happened with my mother a days ago. She is 82 years old and my daughter and I live in her house. Over time she became a bit picky eater and almost always when trying new flavors of strange foods for her, she usually says she doesn't like them. That happens a lot with sweets. And boy, she has a right to not like what she tastes. I respect her tastes as much as she respects mine.
Una propuesta decente
Tuvimos en casa por unos días la visita de una amiga proveniente de la ciudad de Caracas. A ella y a mí nos encanta el sushi, podríamos comer tanto como nos sirvieran, y justo aquí en nuestro país hay una cadena de restaurantes de comida asiática muy popular por su sabor y economía, a la que vamos siempre que podemos, llamada Bonsai Sushi.
Mi amiga nos invitó a cenar a mí y a mi familia y nos propuso ir a comer sushi al centro comercial Sambil donde se ubica el restaurante. Nos alegramos de que mi madre aceptara salir, ya que rara vez sale después de la muerte de mi padre. Mi hija y yo pensamos que habría que invitar a mi madre a otro plato, porque probablemente se resistiría a los sabores nuevos. Para nuestra grata sorpresa no fue así.
A decent proposal
We had at home for a few days the visit of a friend coming from the city of Caracas for a few days. She and I love sushi, we could eat as much as we were served, and right here in our country there is a chain of Asian food restaurants very popular for its taste and economy, where we go whenever we can, called Bonsai Sushi.
My friend invited me and my family for dinner and proposed that we go for sushi at the Sambil shopping center where the restaurant is located. We were glad that my mother agreed to go out, as she rarely goes out after my father's death. My daughter and I thought that my mother would have to be treated to another plate, as she would probably resist the new flavors. To our pleasant surprise this was not the case.

En cuanto trajeron la comida a la mesa, todos empezamos a probar las diferentes combinaciones. Mi madre también empezó a comer lo que le servían y no puso mala cara, jeje. Nos sorprendió especialmente ver que le gustaba lo que probaba. Le preguntamos su opinión sobre el sushi y con una sonrisa nos dijo que estaba muy rico. Siguió comiendo hasta quedar satisfecha, lo que nos encantó: habíamos sumado otra seguidora de este delicioso y versátil rollito de arroz.
Ahora cada vez que le proponemos ir a comer sushi, mi madre no duda en ir también.

Another sushi fan
As soon as the food was brought to the table, we all started tasting the different combinations. My mom also started to eat what she was served and she didn't make a bad face, hehe. We were especially amazed to see that she liked what she tasted. We asked her opinion about the sushi and with a smile she told us that it was very tasty. She continued eating until she was satisfied, which delighted us: we had added another follower for this delicious and versatile rice roll.
Now every time we suggest going to eat sushi, my mother doesn't hesitate to go too.

Que linda tu mami, puede ser que a medida que vamos creciendo nos ponemos algo exigentes con la comida jaja mi mamá es igual y apenas va por los 60 años, asi que el hecho de que le haya gustado ese sushi habla mucho del sitio. Tengo malas experiencias con el sushi, supongo que aun no encuentro un sitio donde sepan prepararlo y tampoco se hacerlo yo jajaja 😂
