It's been a long time since I last had a donut, and I already miss its soft and fluffy texture. The last time I had it was when I went to Pinamalayan with Mama in 2023 to buy my niece a trolley bag, it's a request from my niece, Piaya, actually. It's the start of school, and she doesn't have a bag yet that she can use in school. Then I was thinking what to get for the other kids, because they'll surely get jealous if it's only Piaya that has a new bag, you know kids sometimes.
And I can't really afford a two trolley bag, we're still thinking about it when we saw the Mister Donut shop. The stick-like bread with a dip caught my attention, and I think the kids will love it so much. So without hesitation, I got two of those. Then I also ordered their chocolate, strawberry, and Bavarian donuts to take home. And that's the last time I had it. It's really been that long. I had a plain donut in some bakery, but I want the real one with powdered sugar on it. I really love the feeling of it in my mouth.
Then during my last visit to Plaza de Bansud last month, we were about to go home then. It's nighttime, but I can still spot the shop in the distance. And that time I was craving something, and at the same time I wanted to bring food home, you know, for the oldies. Did I ever share here that my Mommy F is always happy whenever I take home some "pasalubong" from the night market? I know they feel so happy with all the pasalubong I bought then, from sweet cake to some dimsum. And I think I got used to their reaction that I want to bring home something whenever I have to go somewhere. Lol
And here it is, the real thing. That familiar look of the donut that I know. The pattern and the fluffy bread of it. This is the real donut for me. I remember, I couldn't freely have this during my childhood. I'm not sure if the oldies were just being stingy, but maybe they didn't like sweets then. Because they don't buy this, and I can't really make a request because I am not a good kid that deserves such a treat, lol. So I can just look at it with a sad heart.
Anyways, I bought five donuts, two Bavarian, one chocolate, and two strawberry. Mama got the strawberry while we have this four. As for the price, it didn't cost that much. Each one costs 22 pesos, they have other kinds of donuts too, like that one with coating. I think their price ranges from 25 to 27. They also have that choco butternut donut, I'm not sure why people love this particular flavor. But I'm really not curious, so I only got the flavor I'm familiar with.
Ah, as for the brand of this donut, I'm not really sure. I mean, I wasn't able to check, but it's a local one. That's also the reason why it's cheap. But even if it's cheap, the taste is still good. I like their fluffy and airy donut. The oldies enjoyed it too.
It's good and all, but I really wish they put more fillings in it (≧▽≦). That's the only thing I don't like in their donut. It's a good thing their donuts taste good even without fillings (≧▽≦). Ah, we ate these donuts as our breakfast, by the way, paired with coffee. It's the best combination, I tell yah!
