the delicious brown sugar coconut milk pudding of my childhood

Hi guys, come back with me to enjoy delicious, healthy and nutritious food.
For some reason today I miss the special food of my childhood. Pudding made from agar flour mixed with brown sugar and coconut milk.

When I was little, I lived with my family in a small village far from the city. Not many foodstuffs are sold in my village. If we want to eat delicious food we have to wait for the neighbors to have a party or we have to go to town to shop. Never mind fish, eggs alone were an expensive and special food in my village. Moreover, snacks or puddings are usually available when there is a celebration or party. We only usually eat the staple food, the fruit that grows there. Rarely eat other additional foods. If you eat snacks, it's usually made from ingredients that are available in my village, such as cassava and banana.

Pudding was a special food when I was little. Actually, it is not expensive and easy to make this agar agar pudding, but because there is no agar agar flour for sale in my village, this pudding has become a special food for us in the past. So when there is a celebration or a neighbor is having a party in my village and makes this jelly pudding, we are very happy and always fight to finish it. It's very funny when I remember my childhood in my village. But now my village has become developed, and now everyone has a means of transportation if they want to go to the city, even though the road to my village is still not good.


Ok guys, now I want to share a simple recipe for agar agar pudding with coconut milk and brown sugar.

The ingredients:

1 packet of agar agar flour

  • 200 gr grated coconut
  • 2 glasses of water
  • 100 gr brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 3 pandan leaves
    Oh yes, this agar agar flour is made from seaweed, when cooked it is like jelly, but not as chewy as jelly.

Now we continue how to make it.

First of all, I squeezed the grated coconut using 2 glasses of water. Then I added crushed brown sugar, white sugar and agar agar flour. Stir so that the flour doesn't clump.

After that, cook on the stove a mixture of coconut milk, brown sugar and agar agar until it boils. Don't forget to add pandan leaves, so the pudding will smell good. Once it boils, remove from heat and pour into molds while straining, then leave to cool and harden, about one hour.

And tarraaa...my special pudding is ready. I immediately served my special pudding on a plate to enjoy.

I don't serve it with flan or sugar sauce, I just cut it into pieces and eat it straight away, just like in my childhood. If you like fla or sugar sauce, you can add it.

It's so nice to be able to enjoy the special food of my childhood again. Even though it is simple, it tastes very good. Moreover, eaten cold on a hot day, it feels fresh. The fragrant aroma of pandan and brown sugar adds to the delicious taste of the pudding, the savory coconut milk adds to the delicious taste of the pudding
