Hello, beautiful Hive Food community! It is a pleasure to be here today to share with you an uncommon recipe, but one that is considered a delicious dessert in my region. This recipe requires few ingredients, the main one being the plum. I want to clarify that I am not referring to the intense purple plum that many of us know, but to a variety that is grown here in Venezuela. During this hot season, we begin to harvest it. Its flavor is sweet and juicy, and its color is red. However, sometimes we prefer to consume it when it is half-ripe, at which time it acquires a wine-red tone. In the first step, I am going to place a cup of water in a crockpot; not too much, since I want the mixture to thicken. Then, I will add half of the paper and five cloves. It is important to mention that this preparation does not contain sugar, since I consider that the paper will provide the necessary sweetness. First, I want to melt the paper and allow the cloves to release their essence. This process will take a while

Then, I began to prepare the plums, washing them well. Once the paper had melted, I added the plums to the pot and cooked them together so that all the flavors could integrate. I covered the pot and let it cook until the skin of the plums was soft, almost soft.

I let it cook for an hour, considering it was made in the crockpot. However, on the stove the process is much faster, since this sweet does not require much cooking time. After it was ready, I let it rest at room temperature and, once that time had passed, I placed it in the refrigerator.

Now that it is ready and very cold, I served it in a nice little cup. It made me six servings. Basically, this sweet can be enjoyed alone during these dates, so you have to make the most of this delicious preparation.
