NASI KEBULI A Flavorful Journey Through Spices and Tradition
Hi Food Lovers!
You know that there are so many foods that are typical of a city or country, right? Yes, one of them is Nasi Kebuli. This food has a characteristic from the East and India. With a taste rich in spices and a distinctive aroma, it makes anyone tempted to enjoy it. So do I. I usually eat rice because in my country we consume rice for everyday food, it's just that we don't have a taste like Nasi Kebuli, we have similar foods with slightly different flavors. Like fried rice and liwet rice. This food is made from rice with a blend of distinctive spices, this food is also a target for tourists when visiting Indonesia.
Back to Nasi Kebuli, this food is very typical with a slightly longer rice shape than what we have. What I know is that this rice is cooked using typical Indian butter, so the texture and shape of the rice are slightly oilier but not soft. The spices used are also quite varied, there are cardamom, cloves, cumin, cinnamon, coriander, coconut milk and also broth. Each spice creates a distinctive taste. These spices are often imported, especially for butter, because they usually use typical Indian butter, that's why this type of food is more expensive than regular rice.
In addition to the distinctive taste of rice with spices, this food is also usually served with beef, goat meat or chicken. Creating an extraordinary sensation when enjoying it. In addition to meat, this food is also suitable to be accompanied by carrots, shallots and cucumbers as pickles, so that there is a fresh and sour taste sensation and also crackers as the right complement.
I myself started to like Nasi Kebuli when my sister brought it for me. At first I felt strange but after a few bites I felt a delicious taste because of the strong taste and aroma of spices in Nasi Kebuli. Until now I often make Nasi Kebuli as an alternative to my lunch replacing fried rice or liwet rice. Although it has the same characteristics, Nasi Kebuli has a stronger spice taste, and that is what makes Nasi Kebuli attractive and distinctive.
I'm sure every country has a restaurant that sells nasi kebuli, if you are curious about the taste, you can find it near your place of residence. I recommend it for those of you who like food rich in spices 😋
