Growing up as a child this food is my favorite, is a food that is mixed with so much goodness and nutrient, more reason why I want to share this recipe and is easy to make.
Ingredients
Yam
Green (vegetables)
Palm oil
Bonnet peppers
Onions
Crayfish
Salt and little seasoning
How to Prepare
Making this meal has to do with a good white yam, just like the yam in the picture...
Peel the skin and cut the yam into smaller sizes then wash twice in a clean water, place the pieces of yam in a clean pot add water and little salt then cook for ten to fifteen minutes depending on the tendancy of the yam some can be tough while some are not...to make your work easier use a fork if it goes through the yam smoothly then your yam is ready.
For this recipe I'm using green as my preferred vegetables, I carefully prepped my vegetables.
Then I washed the green vegetables thoroughly for three times before cutting it...I would advise you to wash your vegetables after prepping it not after cutting it, this will remove excessive dirt and minor sand easily and also protect it greenish nutrients that will be washed off when you cut them.
I Sieve the hot water from the cooked yam then i placed my chopped green vegetables in it to cook a little or steam for one to two minute in order to maintain that greenish color for it's healthy benefits. Overcooking the vegetables will ruin the entire recipe and it won't taste nice anymore so I needed to be very careful with my vegetables while cooking it.
I washed and pound my crayfish then add it to the vegetables while cooking to steam also and to release it amazing taste to the food.
I washed my bonnet peppers with one of the onion then blend roughly then set aside.
In a small pot i heat up my little palm oil for some seconds saute my onion together with the blended peppers and onion...I love onions, then i add my little seasoning and salt stir and cook for three minutes then pour in the cooked mixture in the other pot of my cooked yam and vegetables then stir to combine well, taste and adjust with salt if necessary.
And the food is ready,
