This is an odd one, but every statistician will say that correlation does not mean causation. We have a cat and are all atheist in our house, but @mildredcat probably does think we worship her. Now I'm thinking about who I know with a cat. I know one pagan with a cat, but most of my friends are not particularly religious as far as I know. It just doesn't tend to come up in conversation.
