RE: NFT Artists - Building a Successful Practice

in Pro Artists4 years ago

Alright, another comment from my personal account ^^
(I also wrote from the NFTHypeSquad account, which is the blog project I'm managing for the little artist collective I'm part of)

I loved reading this! You wrote your advice in a way that I believe you, because I can feel you speak from experience <3

I'm still struggling sometimes with a healthy balance between making art, all the internet stuff that comes with it (never would have thought that I'd have to learn about how to write a decent tweet one day ^^) and caring for my real life, the house and the garden.
But it's all part of the challenge, and I love doing all of these things! I just need to find a good balance and manage everything a little better to not feel overwhelmed.

Thank you a lot for sharing this <3

I'm so glad you liked it! Yes, the internet part of it is hard for me too. It can be so easy to get sucked into social media for hours at a time, without a great deal to show for it. And if you approach it without a strong sense of self-belief in why you're making art, there's always the danger that it can chip away at your self-esteem, if you start comparing yourself to others. One of the reasons why I love Hive so much is because the positivity and mutual support here is amazing.

Twitter is a great tool, but I find I need to restrict myself to short bursts and then, as you say, get back to the world around me. Having said that, so far I've met nothing but friendly people.
