Yo tristemente no pude conocer mucho de esta ciudad, ya que fue un recorrido corto. Fui para participar de un Maratón de 10 km junto con profesores y corredores de Artemisa, y de la Universidad. El mismo día que corrimos, fue que pudimos dar un pequeño tour.
La carrera se realizó desde muy temprano en la mañana. El grupo estaba súper contento de haber participado y de haber obtenido medallas en todas las categorías.
Fuimos al motel deportivo, donde habíamos dejado nuestras cosas, para cambiarnos y salir a nuestro recorrido. En aquel momento se estaban jugando las nacionales, Cienfuegos contra Artemisa, y pasamos por el estadio de pelota.
Al salir a la central, pudimos montarnos en un trencito que le daba el recorrido a la ciudad entera. Y nos bajamos cerca de un Hotel llamado Jagua.
Al frente de este hotel vimos un restaurante donde servían comida criollla, al igual que moluscos, pescados. Estaba ubicado cerquita de la costa, y la vista era sensacional.
Compartimos unos refrescos con chicharrones, los mejores que he probado.
Cerca había una rotonda en forma de perla, y en frente había un restaurante, pero uno de esos dónde van los turistas, done hay músicos tocando sus instrumentos y otro cantando. Les digo, no pude ver más lugares,esta ciudad me sorprendió por su limpieza y por la amabilidad de las personas. Lo que no me gustó fue el sabor característico del agua que tomaban, teníamos que comprar pomos de agua. Pero mientras estuve ahí, supe el porque Benny Moré decía, "Cienfuegos es la ciudad, que más me gusta a mi"
