in Hive Cuba4 months ago (edited)

Have you ever wondered if you use the HBDs you own correctly? It is natural that as a valuable asset, you need to exchange it for other assets, products, or services, but in the process, you can harm the #HIVE ecosystem. We show you which are the right ways, those in which you win and HIVE too.

@starkerz :

@dalz, this looks like an emergency.

I’m guessing most of this is due to HBD APR being constantly converted into hive each month and then sent to Binance for selling to fund people’s living costs passively.

Is there any evidence that this is the case? I’m assuming here that the hbd being converted back into hive is being sent to Binance and sold.

If this is the case, this is hbd holders diluting hive power holders and it should be considered an attack on the eco system (albeit most likely unintentional, but this 2.5 year bear market in the hive price is also unintentional. Hive price ain’t going up, how are we giving out free money to passive holders in such circumstances?)

Is this where we are at?

Are we damaging the hive price so that HBD holders can cash out at an ever greater proportional cost to the chain each month?

If this is the case, then the days of high APR, imo are now demonstrably completely unsustainable and need to come to an end fast before this gets worse.

We will have to take short term pain as the HBD holders convert back to hive and cash out to find such wonderful free yield elsewhere, but at least the chain will have a chance to survive in that case.

Imo we are playing with fire here. Maybe I’m wrong, but personally, I’d rather act with caution and deleverage risk from the eco system during these insanely difficult times for hive power holders

Gracias!

As every month @dalz publishes the financial status of the #HIVE blockchain, in the last a significant increase in inflation is shown in the ecosystem and there is a comment from @starkerz very relevant, which coincides perfectly with the actions of many users in our @hivecuba community, I quote verbatim:

@starkerz :

Is there any evidence that this is the case? I’m assuming here that the hbd being converted back into hive is being sent to Binance and sold.

Keep in mind that every time a user sends HIVE to a Centralized Exchange CEX to then sell or exchange it HIVE loses value, if in addition the HIVE he sent came from exchanging HBD for HIVE, the disastrous effect is the increase of HIVE inflation with the consequent accompanied devaluation. Does this way of acting sound familiar to you? Well, it is the common practice, direct or indirect of the vast majority of users of the @hivecuba community and others. I remind you that all transfers in HIVE are public and there are ways to mark and watch everything related to an account or set of accounts. The common behavior is detailed below.

How do @hivecuba users spend their HBD?

We have reviewed the traces in the last year of the user members of @hivecuba and noted the destination of the transfer and the most common recipients.

  1. QvaPay 73.27%: Without a doubt, the most frequent and preferred form of exchange by many is QvaPay, it is undeniable that @qvapay makes things much easier as a payment gateway with connections to many other cryptocurrencies, services and payment methods, in addition to having a P2P system that handles important exchange volumes. As a USD-denominated gateway, the daily operation of the @qvapay account is to convert your HBDs to HIVE using SWAP and then send it to a certain Exchange to exchange it into USDT or other liquidity support assets. Recently their strategy has been updated to freeze a part of the HBD received, which we consider very good, both for them and for the HIVE ecosystem.
  2. CEX 9.16%: Deposits on centralized exchanges such as CoinEx, Binance and even Mexc.
  3. V4V 6.56%: Payments using Bitcoin Lighting, including some with the objective of exchange in lnp2pbot.
  4. Other 5.84%: Transfers between users or to destinations not classified of interest.
  5. HiveCuBaP2P_Bot 5.17%: @hivecuba.p2p HiveCuBaP2P_Bot exists since recently and although its use as a person-to-person system is increasing, the reality is that many of its users just acquire HBD and move them to QvaPay for other purposes.

Right and Wrong ways to use HIVE/HBD

We defend the principle that each user is free to use his assets in any way he deems appropriate. We make the call so that according to the purpose of use you use a way that does not harm the HIVE ecosystem. Damaging the HIVE ecosystem means devaluing its assets and boosting inflation, which is achieved every time they are sold or exchanged on Exchanges regardless of their type.

The only way to Correctly use HIVE/HBD is directly, as a payment for a product, service, or exchange for FIAT, and for this, it is recommended to use own solutions within the HIVE ecosystem such as @v4v and of course the P2P of the @hivecuba community HiveCuBaP2P_Bot The first question should be: Can I purchase what I need through P2P or using a HIVE platform?, if the answer is Yes you should try. It is true that there are still usability problems, but little by little they will be corrected with a continuous improvement process in which each user can contribute.

We invite you to watch, learn and use:

Thank you!

Us saludo. 👋🏾

CoinEx
