Salidita de Sábado/Saturday outing

Hello, hello.

Hello, hello.

Today I had an unforgettable experience at El Palenque, a gastronomic complex of the Palco group located in the municipality of Lisa.

We left early thinking we wouldn’t arrive on time. Our reservation was for 11:00 am. We got lucky with transportation and arrived at 9:00 am. Since it was very early, we decided to take a walk around the area.

At exactly 11:00, the doors of the complex opened, and a wave of families who had been waiting like us began to enter. It’s a spacious place, with well-separated, organized, and clean establishments. We easily found the spot we had reserved, clearly marked: El Cimarrón. The head of service kindly attended to us and showed us where to sit. Soon, a waitress appeared with two menus in a leather cover and a smile that quickly turned into an apologetic expression to inform us, to our disappointment, that they had no electricity.

All week, the lunch service had been affected, and therefore, they could only serve us hot dishes made on the grill or to go.

We decided on spaghetti, roasted pork chops, and lasagna to take away. To drink, we ordered Cubalibre, natural juices, and canned cola, all beverages costing 100 Cuban pesos.

The prices were very affordable, and the stay was very pleasant. After finishing at the restaurant, we went to the ice cream shop, and there were so many flavors that it was hard to decide. After an intense search, I chose three flavors I had never tried: peanut, vanilla with amarena, and tequila. They were delicious, and I was left wanting to try more.

I had an excellent day; it’s a place worth visiting.
