El béisbol es un deporte muy popular en Cuba y se considera el deporte nacional del país, ha tenido un gran éxito a nivel internacional. Los cubanos son conocidos por su habilidad y pasión por el juego. Durante décadas, este campeonato ha sido cuna de grandes talentos cubanos.

El día de hoy a pesar de los percances fue realmente estupendo puesto que, en mi municipio se comenzó a celebrar la segunda semifinal de la Liga del Béisbol entre dos grandes equipos como lo son el equipo artemiseño “Los cazadores” y el equipo habanero “Industriales”. A pesar de no tener mucho conocimiento sobre dicho deporte quiero recalcar que lo disfruté mucho, no solo por el hecho de sentarme a observar cómo jugaban, sino que fue muy agradable ver a tanta multitud reunida para presenciar dicho evento. El juego comenzó sobre las dos de la tarde y desde horas antes ya estaban vendiendo entradas y todos apresurándose para tomar un buen puesto donde se pudiera apreciar de la mejor forma. Y que es un juego de pelota sin esa característica conga que pone a todos a bailar al sonido del primer toque. Asistí a dicho juego junto a mi hermano y mi sobrino. Al entrar buscamos un lugar donde al pasar de las horas el sol no nos atacara y pudiéramos estar a gusto, nos acomodamos y comenzamos a charlar hasta que comenzó a sonar las primeras notas de nuestro himno, al culminar todos volvimos a tomar asiento para comenzar a presenciar lo que fue un gran partido de pelota.
Today, in spite of the mishaps, was really great because, in my municipality, the second semifinal of the Baseball League began to be held between two great teams such as the Artemidean team "Los cazadores" and the Havana team "Industriales". Despite not having much knowledge about the sport I want to emphasize that I enjoyed it very much, not only for the fact of sitting and watching how they played, but it was very nice to see so many people gathered to witness the event. The game started around two o'clock in the afternoon and since hours before they were already selling tickets and everyone was rushing to get a good spot where they could watch the game in the best way. And what is a ball game without that characteristic conga that gets everyone dancing at the sound of the first touch. I attended the game with my brother and nephew. Upon entering we looked for a place where the sun would not attack us and we could be comfortable, we settled down and began to chat until the first notes of our hymn began to sound, at the end we all returned to take our seats to begin to witness what was a great ball game.
Sin dejar de mencionar que con el paso del tiempo el clima fue haciendo de las suyas poco a poco, y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos ahí estaba la lluvia atacando razón por la cual hubo que interrumpir a medias el juego. En el momento en el que decidieron parar por la tempestad el equipo artemiseño ya iba con una ventaja de 7-1 en el final del quinto inning, lo que me hizo sentir muy orgullosa de este equipo ya que es el municipio donde vivo. En el día de mañana se le dará continuación a este gran partido que no puedo terminar a causa del tiempo y espero que sigamos muy por delante y con los mismos ánimos que se presentó el equipo artemiseño el día de hoy sin quitarle crédito a los habaneros ya que son muy buenos desempeñando su trabajo, todos son reconocidos por su habilidad para correr las bases, su destreza defensiva y su capacidad para lanzar con gran velocidad y precisión.
Not to mention that as time went by the weather was doing its thing little by little, and in the blink of an eye there was the rain attacking, which is why the game had to be interrupted halfway through. By the time they decided to stop because of the storm, the Artemiseno team already had a 7-1 lead at the end of the fifth inning, which made me feel very proud of this team since this is the municipality where I live. Tomorrow will be the continuation of this great game that I could not finish because of the weather and I hope that we continue far ahead and with the same spirit that the Artemiseño team presented today without taking away credit to the habaneros because they are very good at their job, they are all recognized for their ability to run the bases, their defensive skills and their ability to pitch with great speed and accuracy.
