Se desmorona la patria
¿quién la apuntala?
Se están cayendo sus muros
como estos versos
y los poemas de la patria
ya no se alimentan de la belleza
sino del lodo
con el que la patria
parece renunciar
al asombro
que nos concedía.
Demonios y alimañas
han llegado
de quién sabe dónde,
habitan el pulso de la patria
y se caen las columnas,
se abren en dos
las piernas de la patria
como naranjas maduras
cortadas a la mitad.
Se hunde la isla
con la fuerza de la patria desmoronada en el idioma indescriptible
de los bárbaros...
Se está cayendo la patria
y yo con ella
dentro de ti.

THE INDESCRIBABLE LANGUAGE OF THE BARBARIANS
The homeland crumbles
who will prop it up?
Its walls are falling
like these verses
and the poems of the homeland
no longer feed on beauty
but on the mud
with which the homeland
seems to renounce
the wonder
that once granted us.
Demons and vermin
have arrived
from who knows where,
they inhabit the pulse of the homeland
and the columns fall,
the legs of the homeland
split in two
like ripe oranges
cut in half.
The island sinks
with the force of the homeland crumbling in the indescribable language
of the barbarians...
The homeland is falling
and I with it
inside you.

En cada palma hay un derrumbe
Ek resumen de todos los desastres,
Es la patria que nos contempla...
